Morón awards the expansion and repair of the bike lane for 207,499 euros

The Morón de la Frontera City Council has awarded the repair and expansion of the bike lane for 207,499 euros, with works on several streets.

The Morón de la Frontera City Council has awarded the project for the expansion and repair of the bike lane to the company Blas Torres Gutiérrez, with a budget of 207,499.16 euros financed by the Más Sevilla Plan. The works will begin shortly and will have an execution period of three months.

The Morón de la Frontera City Council awarded the project for the expansion and repair of the local bike lane to the company Blas Torres Gutiérrez last Monday. The action has a budget of 207,499.16 euros, financed through the Más Sevilla Plan of the Provincial Council.

According to the council, the works are expected to begin shortly and will have an execution period of 3 months. The project includes both the repair of existing sections in poor condition and the expansion of a new section to the Parque Periurbano de Canillas.

The first action will consist of the repair of 190 linear meters on Calle Carretera de Montellano, specifically in the section between the Municipal Swimming Pools and the Fray Bartolomé de las Casas Secondary Education Institute.

A second action will repair 2,808 linear meters that run through the streets Argentina, Méjico, Torcal, Ronda de la Trinidad, and Avenida del Pilar.

In addition, a new section will be created on Calle Carretera de las Canteras, at the edge of the urban land, from the Marchena road, in the northern area of Morón de la Frontera. This section will have 100 linear meters and 2.15 meters wide, and will be constructed with S-12 asphalt over a 10-centimeter mass concrete slab and an improvement of 20 centimeters of gravel.

The project also includes retopping with coloured protective pavement made of quick-drying acrylic resin, type Mapecoat TNS or similar, along with linear marking and bike lane symbols.

With this action, the Morón de la Frontera City Council aims to improve the safety and comfort of bike users in the municipality, as well as better connect urban areas with the peri-urban park. Once the works begin, traffic will need to be cut or restricted in the affected sections, so drivers are advised to pay attention to the provisional signage.
