The paleontological digging workshop takes place on Sunday, October 25, at the Bioaula in the Olivar del Castillo Park. It is aimed at children aged 6 to 12, and spaces are limited.

Children aged 6 to 12 will be able to excavate their own grid and search for fossils in the Bioaula of the Olivar del Castillo Park. The event is on Sunday, October 25 at 11:30 AM, and lasts for 90 minutes.

The activity proposes to travel thousands of years back to learn about the Smilodon, the feline known as the saber-toothed tiger, which inhabited the Earth until about 10,000 years ago. With a brush in hand, participants work in teams, hypothesising about how the animal lived and why it became extinct, following the scientific method.

To register, an individual application must be made for each child, through the online form that the Town Hall of Mairena del Alcor has set up for the workshop. After filling it out, each family will receive a confirmation email validating their spot.

Spaces are limited, so it is advisable to book as soon as possible. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the activity.
