Sevilla FC has welcomed its fifth reinforcement and is focusing its efforts on a striker, while Real Betis is evaluating a loan with an option to buy to strengthen its attack. The rising costs in the market are affecting both clubs' operations.
The transfer market is tightening and prices are skyrocketing. Sevilla FC and Real Betis Balompié have clear priorities for strengthening their respective attacks, although the methods to achieve this differ. While the Nervionense team is racing to incorporate a '9' before the start of LaLiga, the Verdiblanco team is considering a loan with an option to buy as a way to avoid the high costs of the market.
This was revealed by journalists Ismael Medina, Antonio Camaño, and Manu Colchón in the latest Informe Morrocotudo, where they analysed the current situation of both Seville clubs. The arrival of young full-back Julio Díaz marks Sevilla's fifth reinforcement, but the roadmap does not stop there.
According to Ismael Medina, coach Luis García has clear requests: “Luis García wants one more midfielder and, to start the league, he wants a ‘9’. The striker is a priority.” The journalist noted that the club is also working to secure the arrival of goalkeeper Fran González, although the main sporting need lies in the attack.
Sevilla also needs to progress with departures to free up salary mass and facilitate registrations. Among the players who could leave the club are names like Pedrosa, Ejuke, Rafa Mir, Sow, or Vargas.
At Betis, the situation is similar. The striker is one of the main priorities of the sporting management, but the high cost of operations is leading the club to explore alternatives. Manu Colchón explained that “the centre-forward is one of Betis's main priorities, but the position is in a very complex situation.”
The journalist has indicated that the Verdiblanco club could opt for a temporary signing: “The signing of a loaned player, with an option to buy, who is revalued, has quality, and can compete with Cucho Hernández can be considered an important option.” The intention is to bring in a quality attacker, although the cost of transfers could delay the operation.
Antonio Camaño expressed surprise at the figures being discussed in the market. “The market is tremendously inflated regarding strikers,” he noted, focusing on the amounts paid for players with limited scoring records. “I don’t think eight million euros is a reasonable figure for a striker,” he commented while analysing one of the names linked to Sevilla.
The rising costs of attackers are affecting the planning of numerous clubs and forcing them to carefully consider each operation. Both Sevilla and Betis are seeking solutions that allow them to incorporate quality without making disproportionate investments.
In addition to the attack, Betis is still searching for a midfielder. The sporting management is analysing profiles capable of acting as a pivot or interior, although any signing will also depend on possible departures. Ismael Medina summarised the club's priorities: “Pellegrini and Manu Fajardo have two priority objectives: a ‘9’ and one more midfielder.” Among the names being considered are players like Raskin, Samu Costa, Amrabat, or Dani Ceballos, although some operations are complicated by the cost of transfers and high wages.
The situation of Isco also focused part of the analysis. The player continues with an individualised plan during pre-season and has not worked with the group in all sessions, although from the Verdiblanco environment, they convey calm. “There is no huge concern. Isco wants to be fully recovered and return at his best,” Ismael Medina assured.
Sevilla FC and Real Betis face a similar scenario. Both need to strengthen their attack, but the rising prices are forcing them to adjust operations and explore new formulas. Sevilla wants to accelerate to have a striker before the start of the league. Betis, for its part, continues the search for a quality attacker and does not rule out a loan with an option to buy.
