The City Council of Sevilla has scheduled around twenty free concerts at the Palacio Marqueses de la Algaba and the Real Alcázar for the last week of July. Flamenco, Celtic music, and guitar recitals make up the offering.
The City Council of Sevilla has unveiled the cultural programme for the last week of July, which includes the 'Summer Nights at the Palacio Marqueses de la Algaba' and 'Nights in the Gardens of the Real Alcázar' series. Both events, established in the summer calendar, aim to bring music closer to citizens by utilising the city's heritage spaces.
The eleventh edition of 'Summer Nights at the Palacio Marqueses de la Algaba' kicks off this Thursday, July 23, with a performance by Cristina Hall, presenting 'Threshold of the Gaze', a dance and flamenco show. The series will continue on Tuesday, July 28, with The Jig Kickers, who will perform music from Ireland and early North American settlers, and will close on Wednesday, July 29, with a flamenco guitar recital by David de Arahal.
All concerts will begin at 21:30 in the Mudejar courtyard of the palace, an outdoor stage that becomes a cultural reference each summer. Admission is free, but it is necessary to reserve an invitation through the municipal website. Invitations can be obtained from Monday to Thursday starting at 10:00, and each person can secure a maximum of two tickets per concert.
“Culture continues to fill the Sevillian summer with life through proposals that highlight our heritage and bring music to all audiences,” emphasised the delegate for Tourism and Culture, Angie Moreno.
Meanwhile, the Real Alcázar hosts the XXVII edition of 'Nights in the Gardens of the Real Alcázar', which runs from June 25 to September 19. A total of 63 concerts will be offered in the Cenador de la Alcoba Garden, always at 22:30. Tickets for these performances are already on sale on the platform set up by the organisation.
For the week of July 23 to 29, the Alcázar series includes five events: on Thursday, July 23, 'Genesis' with Luis González Garrido and Orlando Bass; on Friday, July 24, 'The Three-Thread String' by Alxaraf; on Saturday, July 25, 'Nuit d'étoiles' with Natalia Labourdette and José A. Domené; on Tuesday, July 28, 'The Hive' with Stolen Notes, focusing on music from Ireland and Scotland; and on Wednesday, July 29, 'The Spirit of the Sunset' with María José Pérez.
In addition to the concerts, the City Council has organised free guided tours of the Real Fábrica de Artillería, which take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00. These include a tour of the building and the exhibition 'You Will Sleep and Dream with the Song of the Flowers' by Raquel Algaba. Workshops related to the exhibitions are also offered at 11:30 on the same days.
In the Lower Chapter Hall of the City Hall, guided tours of the exhibition 'Masterpieces of Sevillian Painting' are held on Fridays at 10:00. On the other hand, the Cultural Factory hosts the exhibition 'History and Culture of the Gypsy People' until July 30, with free entry. All visits and workshops require prior registration through an online form.
The cultural offering is completed with the exhibition 'Machinations for a Decade' by Pive Amador, in the Atín Aya Hall, which will remain open for the coming weeks. Interested parties can check the schedules and access conditions on the municipal website.
