The City Council of Seville has scheduled free concerts at the Palacio Marqueses de la Algaba and musical events at the Real Alcázar from August 6 to 12, featuring flamenco, medieval music, and fusions.
The City Council of Seville, through the Tourism and Culture Department, has presented the cultural programme for the week of August 6 to 12. The offer combines outdoor cycles with guided tours and exhibitions at various heritage sites across the city.
The delegate for Tourism and Culture, Angie Moreno, highlighted that "summer is the perfect time to enjoy culture outdoors. That’s why we are promoting a programme that combines heritage, talent, and a great diversity of musical proposals."
The highlight will once again be the Palacio Marqueses de la Algaba, which will host the eleventh edition of Summer Nights. Its Mudejar courtyard will become a stage for a journey through root music from different traditions, with flamenco as the common thread and proposals that travel through the Mediterranean, Latin America, and Europe.
All concerts in this cycle will start at 21:30 hours and will have free entry with prior reservation until full capacity is reached. Invitations can be reserved weekly, from Monday to Thursday starting at 10:00 hours, through the municipal website, with a maximum of two tickets per person and concert.
The week kicks off on Thursday, August 6, with Nilo Azul, a project that fuses Iberian and Sudanese music. On Tuesday, August 11, it will be the turn of Artefactum, specialised in medieval music, and on Wednesday, August 12, Graci Rodríguez Band will close with a flamenco rock proposal.
In parallel, the Real Alcázar celebrates the XXVII edition of Nights in the Gardens of the Real Alcázar, which will run until September 19 with 63 concerts in the Garden of the Cenador de la Alcoba. This week's performances include Graci Rodríguez and Manuel Soto “Noly” on August 6; the Dúo Almaclara on the 7th; Cristina Bayón and Ramiro Morales on the 8th; María José Pérez on the 11th; and Alicia Camiña on the 12th. All concerts at the Alcázar start at 22:30 hours and tickets can be purchased on the website set up for the cycle.
The cultural offer is completed with guided tours of the Royal Artillery Factory on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 hours, which include a tour of the exhibitions Hierve el huerto, ¡oh, oh!, by Irene Infantes, and You Will Sleep and Dream with the Song of the Flowers, by Raquel Algaba. There will also be workshops related to these exhibitions at 11:30 hours. On Fridays at 10:00 hours, visits to the exhibition Masterpieces of Sevillian Painting in the Lower Chapter Hall of the City Hall are offered. All these activities are free with prior registration.
