Seville City Council launches a car park in Monte Pirolo Square, in Triana, with 110 spaces for cars and motorcycles, 70 of which are for residents, to alleviate the parking deficit in the area.
Residents of Triana will see their parking problem eased with the upcoming opening of the new car park at Monte Pirolo Square, which Seville City Council announced this Thursday. The facilities will feature 100 spaces for cars and 10 for motorcycles, with a mixed regime prioritising local residents.
Of the car spaces, 70 will be exclusively reserved for residents and the 30 remaining will be for rotation. The motorcycle spaces will all be for residential use. This measure responds to the historical parking deficit experienced in the surrounding streets, a constant demand from local community associations.
To apply for a resident space, it will be necessary to be registered in the Triana district and be the owner of the vehicle or listed as the regular driver on the mandatory insurance policy. The application period is expected to open in the last quarter of 2026 and the processing will be done through the municipal electronic headquarters, in two phases.
The first phase will target residents of the streets closest to the parking, referred to as ‘zone A’. This area is defined by the interior perimeter formed by San Jacinto, Pagés del Corro, San Vicente de Paul and Santa Cecilia Avenue, including streets such as Maestro Jiménez, Vicente Flores Navarro, Alcalde José Hernández Díaz Square, Antonio García Corona, Rafael Salas González, Aceituneras, José Cruz Auñón, Sor Manuela Ramos, Zurraque Square, Hermanos Garduño Gardens, Maestro Guerrero, Maestro Bretón, Sor Milagros, Francisco Gaitán Sánchez Garden, Maestro Guridi, Miguel Ángel Olalla, Doctor Jerónimo Pou, and Ignacio Gómez Millán.
If applications from zone A exceed the available spaces, allocation will be resolved by lottery. In a second phase, if there are free spaces left, the rest of the residents of the Triana district will be able to apply, also with a lottery if demand exceeds supply.
The City Council has set a limit of two permits per household, unless vacancies remain after the first two processes. Additionally, a permanent waiting list will be created, ordered by application date, to cover any vacancies that may arise over time.
As for the fees, resident cars will pay 110 euros per month (including VAT), while motorcycles will cost 25 euros monthly. For rotational use, the cost will be 0.03 euros per minute, with daily passes for 24 hours at 9 euros and for 8 hours at 5 euros.
The launch of this car park is part of the strategy of the Seville council to expand parking availability in the most densely populated neighbourhoods, where the lack of private garages forces residents to compete for a few spaces on public roads. The effective opening of the parking will occur once the process of allocating resident spaces is completed, likely by the end of the year.
