The State Meteorological Agency forecasts a maximum of 38 degrees and completely clear skies in Seville this Friday, July 17, with no chance of rain.

Seville's thermometers will once again show figures typical of the most intense summer. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius in the capital of Andalusia, with a minimum around 19 degrees. The sky will be completely clear, with 0% cloud cover, and no precipitation is expected throughout the day.

The absence of clouds and atmospheric stability will result in a sunny day from start to finish. The probability of rain is nil both during the day and at night, according to Aemet data. Winds will be light and variable, with no significant incidents.

A Record Hot July

This Friday falls within a July that is usually the hottest month of the year in Seville. In fact, the historical average temperature of the city is 19.2 degrees, the highest in all of continental Europe, according to the Köppen climate classification. In July, thermometers often exceed 40 degrees, and the absolute record at the Seville Airport station stands at 46.6 °C, recorded on July 23, 1995, a figure that nearly surpassed during the heatwave of 2022.

For those who need to run errands or work outdoors, the recommendation is to avoid the central hours of the day and stay hydrated. The night, with a minimum of 19 degrees, will provide a thermal respite, although it will still be a high temperature for resting without air conditioning.

The Climate of Seville in Context

Seville enjoys a continental Mediterranean climate, with dry, hot summers and mild, rainy winters. Precipitation concentrates between October and April, with December being the rainiest month. On average, the city records 51 rainy days a year and only three frost days. Snow is an extremely rare phenomenon: the last time a light layer fell was on January 10, 2010.

According to the Weather Spark portal, the best time to visit Seville and enjoy outdoor activities is from late March to late June, and from mid-September to late October. During these periods, temperatures are more pleasant and the chances of rain are lower.

The people of Seville, accustomed to these heat levels, know that shade and fans are essential allies. For tourists visiting the city these days, the advice is clear: constant hydration and a hat, as the sun shows no mercy.
