The sporting director José Ignacio Navarro has introduced Jon Guridi, Juan Iglesias and Arouna Sanganté as new players for Sevilla FC, and has confirmed that the market remains open for both arrivals and departures.

The Sevilla FC has taken a firm step in its reconstruction plan for the upcoming season. This Wednesday, the Seville club officially presented its first three reinforcements: Jon Guridi, Juan Iglesias and Arouna Sanganté. The event, held at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium, was led by the sporting director, José Ignacio Navarro, who not only welcomed the new players but also revealed the keys to the team’s market strategy.

A market conditioned by the salary cap

Navarro was clear: the sporting planning of Sevilla FC is subject to the salary cap imposed by LaLiga. The official explained that, although these three signings have been completed, the club still needs to make more moves to balance the accounts. “There are still operations to resolve before the market closes,” he stated, emphasising that the priority is to build a competitive squad without neglecting the financial situation.

The sporting director confirmed that there are open negotiations for the departure of several players, although he avoided naming names until the agreements are final. “We are not only looking to reduce the wage bill but also to strengthen the team to fight for important goals again,” he added.

The new reinforcements, excited

The three players expressed their enthusiasm for wearing the Sevilla shirt. Midfielder Jon Guridi highlighted that his goal is to “bring experience, hard work and commitment to help the team regain its best version.” Meanwhile, full-back Juan Iglesias assured that he has found “a united dressing room eager to turn the situation around,” referring to the last campaign, in which the team finished in the mid-table.

Defender Arouna Sanganté, for his part, described his signing as “one of the greatest challenges of my career” and expressed his readiness to compete at the highest level in LaLiga. The three agreed that the Sevilla fans have been key in their decision to join Nervión.

The coming days are crucial for Sevilla

José Ignacio Navarro insisted that the club’s roadmap requires patience. “The market is still open and we are working hard to close the operations that will allow us to have a balanced squad,” he declared. The sporting director reminded that future signings will depend on the sales that are finalised in the coming weeks, a scenario that conditions all the club’s decisions.

With the arrival of Guridi, Iglesias and Sanganté, Sevilla FC begins a deep renewal under the direction of Luis García Plaza. The coach, who has already started working with the new players, aims to return the team to the fight for European spots. The coming days will be decisive to see if the Seville club can secure more signings or if, on the contrary, it will have to wait for departures to continue moving in the market.

Meanwhile, the Sevillismo is already dreaming of seeing its new idols on the pitch. The anticipation is at its peak, and rightly so: after a dull season, the management has made moves to restore hope to the fans. With the market still open, the question is whether Sevilla will manage to complete the puzzle before the summer closure.
