The Nervión club has reached agreements with Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid to strengthen the goalkeeper and left-back positions. Both operations will be formalised next week.
Sevilla FC is finalising the details of two signings that will bolster the goalkeeper and defence ahead of the upcoming season. According to club sources, the agreements with Real Madrid for goalkeeper Fran González and with Atlético de Madrid for left-back Julio Díaz are closed and will be officially announced in the coming days.
The arrival of 21-year-old Fran González comes as part of a shared transfer deal with Real Madrid. Sevilla acquires a percentage of his economic rights, and the young goalkeeper will take on the role of second-choice keeper, behind the starter. This signing will lead to the imminent departure of Alberto Flores, who is seeking minutes at another club after refusing to be the third option in goal.
Meanwhile, Julio Díaz, coming from Atlético de Madrid, arrives to cover the left-back position as a replacement for Gabriel Suazo. This operation is also a shared transfer: Sevilla buys 50% of the player's rights, while Atlético retains the other 50%. Díaz will fill the vacancy on the left flank, given the expected departure of Joaquín Oso, who is shaping up to be one of the major sales of the summer.
These moves have been made possible thanks to the financial restructuring led by sporting director José Ignacio Navarro. The wage bill of the Nervión side has been relieved following the departures of Tanguy Nianzou and Akor Adams, as well as the imminent exit of Rubén Vargas, whose transfer is being negotiated to free up more salary margin.
The club is also working on the registration of most first-team players with LaLiga, a priority process for them to compete in the first matches of the season. Additionally, the sporting management remains vigilant in the market for possible further departures, with Joaquín Oso as the main candidate to generate income.
With these signings, Sevilla FC strengthens two key positions with young talents, in a strategy that combines youthful talent with financial control. Fans hope these signings will help return the team to the fight for European spots next season.
