La Peña Flamenca El Arrabal was the main attraction of another night of Noctaíra in Alcalá de Guadaíra, with the show ‘Arrabal en Vivo’ at the San Miguel Centre.
The San Miguel Centre in Alcalá de Guadaíra became the epicentre of the most genuine flamenco last night. La Peña Flamenca El Arrabal offered an intimate and profound evening that transported the audience to the roots of the art form, right in the setting of the Castle. The delegate for Culture and Tourism, Christopher Rivas, accompanied the attendees and highlighted the role of the peña in promoting flamenco as a local identity.
A night of rhythm and emotion in the San Miguel neighbourhood
The terrace of the San Miguel Centre was filled with rhythm, emotion, and art. The evening, dubbed ‘Arrabal en Vivo’, brought together enthusiasts and figures from Alcalá's flamenco scene such as Jesús Ponce, Saray Benítez, Joaquín de Alcalá, and Marimar la María. All of them, regulars at the peña, attract numerous followers who attend their singing, dancing, and guitar classes, both from the locality and other municipalities in the region.
The event, part of the cultural and tourist programme Noctaíra 2026, offered a unique opportunity to experience the essence of flamenco in a heritage setting. “The audience's response confirms that the programming is of a high standard,” noted Rivas, who highlighted that the first weeks of Noctaíra are bringing “very interesting and enriching” artistic proposals.
Noctaíra celebrates its tenth anniversary
Noctaíra is celebrating its tenth edition this year, establishing itself as an unmissable event of the summer in Alcalá de Guadaíra.
