The show by Jesús Bienvenido returns to Alcalá de Guadaíra on October 18 at the Auditorio Riberas del Guadaíra, with tickets at 10 euros now on sale.
The Auditorio Riberas del Guadaíra will host the performance of 'El Rámper' on October 18 at 19:00 hours, the show composed and performed by Jesús Bienvenido, as part of the month dedicated to Democratic Memory in Alcalá de Guadaíra.
The delegate for Culture, Democratic Memory and Andalusian Identity, Christopher Rivas, has presented this proposal, which previously visited the city to great acclaim from the audience. According to Rivas, the move to a larger venue responds to that response:
“Precisely because of that response, this time we wanted to move the show to the space with the largest capacity in our city, so that as many residents as possible can enjoy it.”
The play narrates, through the intimate story of a clown, the repression suffered by authors, directors, and performers of murgas and choruses during the Carnival after the coup d'état of July 1936 and during the Civil War. The show focuses on the repression of art in Spain and, particularly, in Andalusia, and advocates for the importance of historical memory to acknowledge the dignity of the victims.
The choice of October is not coincidental: the Culture and Memory delegations wanted it to be the month leading up to the III Democratic Memory Conference, which will take place during the last week of the month. The proposal combines culture, music, theatre, and memory, and invites reflection on freedom and the role of art in times of repression.
