Morón de la Frontera closes August 2026 with 1,696 unemployed, its lowest figure since records began. This is 33 fewer than in July and 221 fewer than a year ago.
The Sevillian municipality of Morón de la Frontera has once again reduced its list of unemployed and closes August 2026 with 1,696 people unemployed, the lowest figure in the entire historical series recorded by the ARGOS Observatory of the Andalusian Employment Service since 2005.
This figure represents 33 fewer unemployed than in July, when the municipality recorded 1,729. Compared to August 2025, the improvement is even greater: there were 1,917 unemployed then, meaning the year-on-year reduction is 221 people, an 11.53% decrease.
The current record contrasts with the worst moments in the series. In December 2012, one of the peaks of unemployment in the locality, 4,113 people were unemployed. The difference with this August's figure is 2,417 fewer people.
The downward trend is also observed in recent years: in August 2021, there were 2,646 unemployed; in 2022, 2,711; in 2023, 2,335; in 2024, 2,047; and in 2025, 1,917. The first record in the series, in August 2005, placed the figure at 2,169.
From the Morón City Council, these figures are viewed positively and they remind that reducing unemployment remains a priority objective of municipal action. They emphasize that the decrease coincides with a local strategy aimed at taking advantage of funding opportunities and promoting training, employment, and employability improvement initiatives.
The goal is to continue working to consolidate this trend, generate new opportunities, and ensure that the jobs created allow residents to develop their life projects in Morón, municipal sources state.
The August data leaves the municipality with 1,696 people registered as unemployed, the best record in the historical series available since 2005. The next update from the ARGOS Observatory, corresponding to September, will allow us to see if the trend continues.
