The Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council participated this Monday in the tribute to Blas Infante next to the monument on the old road from Seville to Carmona, with a floral offering and a performance by the group El Patriota.

Alcalá de Guadaíra was present this Monday at the official tribute to Blas Infante, held at kilometre 4 of the old road from Seville to Carmona, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of his assassination. The delegate for Natural Monuments, Environment and Sustainability, and fifth deputy mayor, Luisa Campos, made a floral offering on behalf of the city.

With this gesture, the municipality reaffirms its commitment to the political, cultural and democratic legacy of the man considered the father of the Andalusian homeland. The City Council has emphasised that participation in these events is not only an exercise in memory but also a way to reclaim Andalusian culture and the role of municipalities in its preservation.

The event featured a performance by the group El Patriota, which added a cultural and popular note to the day. The group helped to highlight the festive and reivindicative dimension of Andalusian identity, becoming one of the most anticipated moments of the tribute.

The participation of Alcalá de Guadaíra is part of a municipal work line focused on democratic memory and Andalusian identity. This year, moreover, the city has joined the Blas Infante Tourist Route, an itinerary that positions it as a key municipality in the life of the politician and in the history of Andalusianism.

Alcalá de Guadaíra is the only Andalusian municipality with a Specific Delegation for Andalusian Identity, an initiative that transcends symbolic gestures to promote initiatives that strengthen knowledge of the history and identity markers of Andalusia. The delegation works on cultural programming and the dissemination of these values among the citizenry.

This year's tribute has served to remind us that the legacy of Blas Infante remains alive in municipalities like Alcalá, where memory becomes a tool for participation and local development. The floral offering and institutional presence were the culmination of an event that brought together representatives from various parts of the province.
