Alcalá improves its schools with over 195,000 euros in renovations

The Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council invests over 195,000 euros in reforms at various CEIPs and adapts a warehouse for IES Hienipa before the 2026-2027 school year.

The Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council has allocated over 195,000 euros to renovations at various CEIPs and to the adaptation of a warehouse for IES Hienipa before the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

The City Council of Alcalá de Guadaíra, through the departments of Education and Urban Habitat, has executed a plan for renovations and maintenance in the network of public Infant and Primary schools (CEIPs) in the city during the summer. The works, which have involved a total investment of over 195,000 euros, aim for students to start the 2026-2027 school year in suitable and safe facilities.

The mayor, Ana Isabel Jiménez, accompanied by the Urban Habitat delegate, David Delgado, and the Education delegate, Pablo Chain, visited the CEIP Pedro Gutiérrez, where works have been carried out on roofs, flooring, and classroom finishes for Infant education, as well as the rehabilitation of the playground tower and several walls, with an expenditure of over 98,000 euros.

One of the most notable actions is the installation of 37 air conditioning units in the CEIPs Blas Infante, Oromana, San Mateo, Poeta Rafael Alberti, and Puerta de Alcalá, with an investment of nearly 15,000 euros, to improve the thermal comfort of the classrooms.

At CEIP Manuel Alonso, artificial grass has been laid in the Primary playground and the exterior wall has been repaired, at a cost of over 34,000 euros. Additionally, an industrial warehouse in the Polígono Cristalería has been adapted and allocated for the practical training modules of IES Hienipa, with an investment of over 48,000 euros.

During the summer months, the City Council has developed an extensive programme of cleaning, painting, maintenance, pest control, and fumigation across all educational centres in the locality. This is complemented by numerous minor interventions that have addressed needs in roofs, facades, carpentry, enclosures, sewage systems, playgrounds, or dining rooms, among others.

Classes for Infant and Primary education will begin on 10 September, while students in Secondary and Baccalaureate will start on 15 September, with renovated facilities to face the new school year.
