La Harinera del Guadaíra hosts the XXIII cycle 'Music in the Courtyard' from September 9 to 30, kicking off Alcalá's cultural autumn with eight free concerts of varied styles.
The courtyard of La Harinera del Guadaíra will once again be the stage for the 'Music in the Courtyard' cycle, celebrating its XXIII edition between September 9 and 30. This event, now established in the cultural calendar of Alcalá de Guadaíra, brings together local audiences and visitors from the province in a unique setting.
The municipal delegate for Culture and Tourism, Christopher Rivas, has highlighted that the cycle is characterised by the professionalism of the performers and the quality of the shows. In his opinion, the initiative has become a cultural showcase for Alcalá for visitors from the province, who take the opportunity to experience the music and the venue of La Harinera itself.
The concerts will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays in September, always at 20:30, with free entry. Invitations, two per person, can be collected at the Casa de la Cultura starting the morning of Wednesday, September 2.
The cycle kicks off on Wednesday, September 9 with the concert 'Author's Song, Poetry and Latin American Literature', featuring Gaddafi Núñez, musician, composer, and producer, alongside Juana Gaitán, guitarist, singer, and composer whose work traverses jazz and traditional Latin American rhythms.
The following day, Thursday 10, it will be the turn of Eternum Saxophon Quartet with 'A Night at the Opera', a sonic journey that conveys the expressiveness and drama of the lyrical genre through the saxophone quartet.
The next week, on Wednesday 16, Susana Casas and Tommaso Cogato will perform 'Andalusian Lyricism', a show focusing on composers such as Turina, Falla, and Lorca and their reflection of Andalusian folklore. On Thursday 17, Kumpania will present 'A Story of Spain', a journey through Spanish music from the Renaissance to the 20th century.
The penultimate week opens on Wednesday 23 with Stolen Notes and their show 'The Hive', centred on the traditional sounds of Ireland and Scotland. On Thursday 24, Desirée Martín and Juan Manuel Román will perform 'Mirror of the Stars', a reinterpretation of medieval and popular Hispanic music.
The cycle will close, as is tradition, with a local show. This edition will feature 'International Airspace', with Ismael Sánchez and Vicky Luna, on Wednesday, September 30.
