The courtyard of the Harinera del Guadaíra hosts two new events this week in the XXIII Música en el Patio cycle, with 'Lirismo andaluz' on Wednesday 16 and Kumpania on Thursday 17. Entry is free by invitation at the Casa de la Cultura.
The programming of the XXIII Música en el Patio cycle continues this week in the courtyard of the Harinera del Guadaíra, in Alcalá de Guadaíra. On Wednesday 16th September, the duo formed by Susana Casas and Tommaso Cogato will perform the show 'Lirismo andaluz. Compositions, dramaturgy and Andalusian poetry', a repertoire influenced by composers such as Turina, Falla, and Lorca, who reflect Andalusian folklore and musical tradition in their works.
The following day, on Thursday 17th September, it will be the turn of Kumpania, a quartet presenting 'A History of Spain', a musical journey from the Renaissance to the 20th century.
The municipal delegate for Culture and Tourism, Christopher Rivas, has highlighted the quality of this cultural event and its ability to attract audiences from across the province.
"The professionalism of the performers and the quality of the shows attract a large number of visitors each year and it is also becoming a cultural showcase for Alcalá for the citizens of the province who come to discover and enjoy the music and the surroundings of the Harinera"
The penultimate week of the cycle will kick off on Wednesday 23rd September with Stolen Notes and their show 'The Hive', a journey through the traditional sounds of Ireland and Scotland. On Thursday 24th, Desirée Martín and Juan Manuel Román will present 'Mirror of the Stars', a reinterpretation of medieval and popular Hispanic music.
The cycle will conclude on Wednesday 30th September with a local show, 'International Airspace', by Ismael Sánchez and Vicky Luna.
All concerts take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 20:30 hours. Entry is by free invitation, which can be collected at the Casa de la Cultura.
