The comprehensive rehabilitation works of the Medina de Haro Civic Centre, in Alcalá de Guadaíra, are completed internally, pending furniture, audiovisual materials, and landscaping. The project has received a grant of 873,168.75 euros from the Next Generation funds.
The interior of the Medina de Haro Civic Centre, in the Eastern District of Alcalá de Guadaíra, is now finished. This was confirmed by the town's mayor, Ana Isabel Jiménez, during a visit to the building alongside the delegate for Citizen Participation, Teresa García; the delegate for Urban Planning and Strategic Planning, Jesús Mora; and the delegate for Urban Habitat, David Delgado.
The works have completely remodelled the building, which now includes five classrooms, a specific space for equipment and IT work, multipurpose and meeting rooms, a reception area, offices, restrooms, storage rooms, and a café bar area. The entire complex is accessible, including a lift to the upper floor, which did not exist before.
The project is co-financed with the Recovery Plan of the Next Generation Funds, with a grant of 873,168.75 euros. The intervention has also improved the energy efficiency of the building, reducing non-renewable primary energy by more than 30%. This was achieved by working on the thermal envelope (facades, exterior carpentry, roof, and floors), the heating and lighting installations, and by installing a battery of photovoltaic panels.
Additionally, the environmental sustainability of the centre has been reinforced in aspects such as water consumption, the use of materials, and waste management.
The mayor emphasised the role of the civic centre within a broader urban project for the area. In her opinion, the creation of a large square open to the whole city has changed the character and functioning of the neighbourhood and has become a place for coexistence and celebration of activities.

Jiménez also defended that offering leisure and training alternatives to residents is part of her government's principles and framed the action within the goal of the so-called 15-minute city, where any citizen can find the necessary services and facilities within that time frame.

The building is still pending the provision of office furniture, audiovisual materials, and landscaping and tree elements. With these works, the commissioning of a centre that aims to become a reference for the residents of the Eastern District of Alcalá de Guadaíra will be completed.
