The Local Security Board approves the Emergency Plan for the 2026 Fair, from September 9 to 13, with the repeat presence of the Civil Guard Cavalry and USECIC, as well as police reinforcements and a permanent ambulance.
The Town Hall of Las Cabezas de San Juan approved this Thursday the Emergency Plan and the security device for the September Fair 2026, which will take place from September 9 to 13. The Local Security Board, meeting at 12:00 hours in the Town Hall's meeting room, coordinated the action protocols to ensure a quick response to any incidents during the festive days.
The meeting was chaired by the mayor, Pepe Solano, and was attended by the delegate for Celebrations, Pepe Quiñones; the fourth deputy mayor, Violeta González; the general secretary of the Town Hall, and representatives from the Civil Guard, the National Police assigned to the Junta de Andalucía, and the Local Police.
One of the main new features will be the presence, for the second consecutive year, of the Civil Guard Cavalry Squadron, which will enhance surveillance in the fairgrounds and its surroundings. The Civil Guard Citizen Security Unit (USECIC), specialised in special operations, will also be present.
The Local Police will extend their shifts throughout all days of the fair and, as a new feature, also on the Tuesday before, due to the traditional fish dinners and other gatherings in the booths. The device will include preventive breathalyser checks and an increase in security both in the fairgrounds and in the urban area, with coordinated patrols from the Civil Guard and the Local Police.
Throughout the week, including Tuesday, there will be a permanent ambulance service in the fairgrounds to attend to any health emergencies. During the meeting, the Civil Guard also presented safety data for the municipality, which reflects crime rates well below provincial, regional, and national averages.
The mayor, Pepe Solano, has called for responsibility among residents during the festivities:
“Everything is prepared and arranged so that, in any circumstance, the security forces are perfectly coordinated and can act quickly and efficiently in the face of any adversity. But the safety of our Fair also depends, to a large extent, on us.”
Solano has urged the residents to enjoy these days with respect and coexistence, so that the fair remains a family meeting point. “I ask for responsibility so that these days of celebration and coexistence reflect the utmost expression that we, the residents, have for hospitality,” he added.
With the approval of the plan, the municipality is ready to face the event with maximum guarantees. Residents attending the fair will be able to consult health and safety points once the fair begins on September 9.
