The Town Hall of Las Cabezas de San Juan has presented the poster for the XVII edition of the Historical Recreation of Rafael del Riego's Pronouncement, which will take place on October 16, 17, and 18. The event will include conferences, parades, and the historical recreation on Sunday.

The programme for the XVII Historical Recreation of Rafael del Riego's Pronouncement will take place on October 16, 17, and 18 in Las Cabezas de San Juan. The event will transport locals and visitors back to January 1, 1820, the date when Rafael del Riego's pronouncement marked a key episode in contemporary Spanish history.

The initiative will combine history, culture, leisure, and commercial activity. Among the proposals are conferences, literary presentations, concerts, and activities for all ages. The traditional parade and the historical recreation on Sunday morning will be the central events.

In the cultural section, historian José María García León, a PhD in History, will participate by offering a new conference. The book “Sopla Viento de Levante” by Hugo Camacho will also be presented.

The mayor, Pepe Solano, and the Culture delegate, África Castro, presented the promotional poster on Monday, September 21, created by local designer Domi Hernández Vaquero. During the event, the mayor invited citizens to experience this festival designed to connect with the history of the municipality.

“We invite locals and visitors to learn about, enjoy, and live this festival, which brings us closer to our history and shares it with all citizens,” said Mayor Pepe Solano.

The councillor for Culture announced that the complete programme will be revealed in the coming days. As a major novelty, attendees will be able to view Las Cabezas de San Juan from a hot air balloon, providing a unique perspective of the municipality.

The recreation has established itself as one of the main events on the local cultural calendar, with a notable influx of participants and visitors that also boosts commerce and the economy of the area.

The Town Hall invites everyone to participate in a weekend where history will come alive again in the streets of the town.
