The procession departed from the Town Hall towards the fairgrounds with the San Antonio de Padua Municipal Band. The Queen of the Festivities 2026 turned on the lights and toasted with local wine in the Municipal Tent.

The LXII Grape Harvest Fair and Festival of Villanueva del Ariscal is now underway. The official inauguration brought together locals and authorities on one of the most anticipated days of the local calendar, with the lighting of the fairgrounds as the central moment.

The procession left from the Town Hall heading to the Fairgrounds. It was accompanied by the Municipal Corporation and the music of the San Antonio de Padua Municipal Band.

The Queen of the Festivities 2026 was responsible for flipping the switch that illuminates the fairgrounds during the main days. The event was attended by the deputy representative of the Spanish Government in the province of Seville, Francisco Toscano.

Once at the Municipal Tent, the Queen offered a toast with a glass of local wine to all attendees, a gesture that marked the beginning of the festivities.

The day also saw the first recognition of the year. The tent ‘Asín, Sí’ received the award for the best tent, an accolade that acknowledges the effort of the participating tent owners.

The closing of the first night was marked by the Orquesta Decibelios, which provided the music to bid farewell to the inaugural day.

The Grape Harvest Fair and Festival continues in the coming days in Villanueva del Ariscal, with the fairgrounds as the epicentre of activities.
