Tomares closes 2025 with €0 municipal debt, according to Datosmacro.com from Expansión. The municipality also leads the average gross income in the province and ranks among the 100 localities with the highest income in Spain.
The Town Hall of Tomares owes nothing to the banks. Data from Datosmacro.com, the statistical portal of Expansión, places the municipality with €0 municipal debt in 2025, a figure shared by very few localities in Seville with between 10,000 and 40,000 inhabitants.
The absence of financial liabilities is not the only notable data in the report. Tomares ranks first in the province of Sevilla for average gross income per inhabitant and appears in the group of the 100 municipalities with the highest average gross income in Spain.
The Town Hall attributes these results to responsible management of public resources, according to information released by the Town Hall itself. The combination of sound accounts and high incomes creates an unusual profile among localities in the metropolitan area.
For residents, the zero debt figure means that the Town Hall does not allocate money to bank interest and can direct that margin towards local services and investments. The position in average gross income also influences consumption capacity and the type of commerce and services that settle in the municipality.
"Tomares records €0 municipal debt in 2025, placing it among the municipalities in the province of Sevilla with between 10,000 and 40,000 inhabitants that have no debt," the report from Datosmacro.com states.
The study is updated annually based on the budget settlements submitted by the town halls and the income statistics published by agencies such as the Tax Agency. The upcoming budget execution data for 2026 will allow verification of whether Tomares maintains zero debt and retains its position in the income ranking.
