Nearly 900 children in Early Years and Primary have started classes this Thursday in the public schools of Gines. The mayor, Romualdo Garrido, and the education delegate, David Ostos, visited the schools on the inaugural day.

The municipality of Gines has officially kicked off the 2026-2027 school year for Early Years and Primary students this Thursday. In total, around 900 children have returned to the classrooms of the local public schools on a day marked by reunions and the excitement of the first day.

The mayor, Romualdo Garrido, accompanied by the municipal education delegate, David Ostos, toured the various educational centres to personally greet the management teams, teachers, and students. During the visit, the municipal officials gathered feedback from the educational community regarding the start of the school year.

The Municipal Government has conveyed its support to the schools and has reminded that the City Council has carried out numerous improvement and maintenance tasks in each of the schools in recent months. These actions will be joined by others already planned for the coming months, as well as those deemed necessary throughout the school year.

Education continues to be one of the priority areas for municipal management, as highlighted by sources from the City Council of Gines. The aim is for students to focus on learning in the best possible environment, with the support of teachers and families.

"To the entire educational community: happy start of the school year," the council expressed in a message released after the first day.

With the return to classrooms, families in Gines regain the school routine, and the schools face a new academic year that will extend until next summer. Improvements in educational infrastructure will continue to be implemented according to the schedule set by the City Council.
