The Gines Town Hall has conveyed to the Junta de Andalucía a list of improvements for the educational centres in the municipality. The mayor, Romualdo Garrido, and the municipal Education delegate, David Ostos, held a working meeting with the territorial delegate for Education of the Junta in Seville, Gloria Guillén Rodríguez, to review the situation of the infrastructures and resources in the local schools and institutes.
Regarding construction, the council inquired about the status of the dining hall works and the commitments made by the regional administration to install an elevator at CEIP Nuestra Señora de Belén. The second phase of the works at CEIP Maestro Antonio Reyes Lara and the soundproofing of the gym at CEP Carmen Iturbide were also discussed.
Attention to diversity was another central point of the meeting. The Town Hall requested more PTIS and AL resources for all centres in the municipality, aiming to strengthen support for students in need. Additionally, a request was made for the splitting of a class at CEP Ángel Campano Florido.
These requests aim to address the needs raised by the educational community of Gines. The meeting served to bring pending issues to the table and to learn first-hand about the Junta de Andalucía's plans for each intervention.
The Gines Town Hall has not specified timelines for the execution of these improvements, which depend on the response and actions of the territorial Education delegation.
