The Town Hall of Lebrija honoured the seniors of the municipality at a dinner that brought together nearly a thousand locals. The mayor, Pepe Barroso, highlighted their role in building the current town.
The Lebrija Fair and Patron Saint Festivities 2026 once again included one of its most anticipated events. The traditional Seniors' Dinner gathered around a thousand locals for a night of camaraderie and recognition.
The event, organised by the Town Hall of Lebrija, took place in an atmosphere of joy and companionship. The dinner was provided by the catering service Sevilla Betis de Lebrija, which prepared a specific menu for the occasion and received positive feedback from attendees.
The evening featured a performance by local artist Raquel Zapico, who provided music for a night dedicated to the seniors of the municipality.
During the event, the mayor of Lebrija, Pepe Barroso, was accompanied by the delegate for Festivities, Alberto Pérez, and the delegate for Seniors, María Ángeles Mena. In his speech, Barroso wanted to express words of recognition to those present.
"A night for you all," said the mayor, who added that "the town we have today cannot be understood without the work, effort, and dedication of generations of Lebrijans."
The mayor emphasised the contribution of seniors to the history and current life of Lebrija, in a day designed to enjoy and share the Fair.
Additionally, during the day on Wednesday, the Town Hall of Lebrija paid tribute to Caseta La Amistad for its 50th anniversary. The event was attended by the mayor, members of the municipal government team, representatives of the board of directors, and founding members.
The mayor presented the leaders of the caseta with a recognition scroll for their five decades as part of the Fair of Lebrija. The text highlighted their trajectory as a meeting place and community hub, as well as the memories shared by generations of members.
The scroll expresses the gratitude and congratulations of the Town Hall to all those who have contributed to keeping the history of La Amistad alive and the spirit of the Fair.
