La Rinconada unveils 30 vehicles to enhance street cleaning

La Rinconada City Council has presented a fleet of 30 vehicles for public road maintenance, with an investment of nearly one million euros.

The multifunctional venue El Abrazo hosted the presentation of the new machinery with which La Rinconada City Council strengthens its street cleaning service. The fleet, composed of 30 vehicles, has involved an investment of nearly one million euros and adds to the 12 million allocated last March for the creation of a new cleaning service.

The mayor, Javier Fernández, and the Public Infrastructure councillor, Rafael Reyes, attended the event alongside technicians and workers from the area. Fernández highlighted that street cleaning is "one of the aspects that defines that excellence" in the quality of life of the municipality and reminded that "we made a significant investment in human capital, now we reinforce the machinery."

Among the new equipment are a Schmidt sidewalk sweeper, two Iveco Daily vans with high-pressure cleaning, eight electric Goupil G4 vehicles with a pressure water module, a Piaggio Porter, a Peugeot Rifter for inspection, a truck with a 10,000-litre tank, a Fuso Canter truck with a lift platform, and fifteen electric Feniks tricycles.

Additionally, eight blowers and eight electric brush cutters have been added to facilitate public road maintenance. These resources will be used for street washing, cleaning bins, removing animal waste, and providing support during fairs and municipal events.

Reyes praised the new machinery: "These are tools that make the workers' job easier so they can perform their duties under optimal conditions." The delegate also emphasised the work of the employees, stating that "La Rinconada is benefiting from their great work."

The mayor made an appeal to the citizens: "No matter how many resources we provide, it is essential to raise awareness and commitment from the entire society in this regard." With this investment, the City Council aims to maintain the "highest European standards in quality of life," according to Fernández.
