The club presents commemorative plaques to its 75 longest-serving members at an event at Hacienda Santa Cruz, attended by Mayor Javier Fernández and Sports Delegate Francisco Rodríguez.
The San José Sports Association continues to celebrate its 75th anniversary, which was marked on September 18. Following a pre-season match against Córdoba CF from La Liga Hypermotion, the entity gathered its oldest members for a tribute held at Hacienda Santa Cruz.
The event was hosted by Luis Chía, a former board member and treasurer of the club. Attendees included the Mayor of La Rinconada, Javier Fernández, and the Sports Delegate, Francisco Rodríguez.
Fernández opened the event with words of gratitude to the organising committee.
“I want to congratulate the Organising Committee for the care and effort put into this commemoration. San José is not just a club: it is part of the identity of our municipality.”
The Mayor also highlighted the importance of youth development.
“We all like to see the first team at the top, but the most valuable work happens every afternoon in the youth academy: boys and girls learning sports and values and growing into good people. That is priceless.”
The club's president, José Alejandro Hurtado Morales, 'Mimi', addressed the present members.
“Today we are not just celebrating 75 years of a club. We are celebrating 75 years of stories, of people, of families, of sacrifices, of joys, and also of difficult moments that we have learned to overcome together.”
The honorary president, Manuel Hita, emphasised the transmission of sentiment between generations.
“It is wonderful to see how the colours of a club are felt, not only by the older ones but also by boys and girls who began following the club at a young age and are still with it today. That spirit is what we wish to pass on to future generations to keep one of the most historic clubs in the province of Seville alive.”
During the event, the club presented the La Rinconada Town Hall with a commemorative jersey for the 75th anniversary featuring the logo of La Rinconada 2028, European City of Sport, along with a pennant for the occasion that was collected by the Sports Delegate.
The presentation of plaques to the 75 longest-serving members capped off the evening. Notable figures such as Reyes 'El lechero' and Amadeo Pallarés, along with former presidents like Joaquín Berenguer and Pepe Luis Casado, took to the stage.
