The Sala Maga, the hall of the Centro Cultural de La Villa, and the Hacienda Santa Cruz will host seven exhibitions between September and December. The programme combines art, historical memory, sports, and local identity.
La Rinconada will feature seven exhibitions in its cultural programme between September and December. The venues will be the Sala Maga, the hall of the Centro Cultural de La Villa, and the Hacienda Santa Cruz.
The calendar kicks off at the Sala Maga with ‘Nomads: 10 Years of Artists in Motion’, from 14 to 27 September. This exhibition reviews a decade of work from the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts of La Rinconada (CRAES).
In October, from 5 to 18, the same hall will host ‘Caricatures of 27’, curated by the comedian and illustrator José Luis Castro Lombilla. The exhibition addresses caricature and its connection to the Generation of 27.
Also in October, from 26 October to 8 November, the Sala Maga will dedicate an exhibition to the 75th anniversary of the San José Sports Group. The journey traces the history from the Sports Club that played in La Rinconada Estación to the present day.
In November, from 13 to 22, ‘The Poetics of Disorder’ will arrive, a pictorial exhibition resulting from the collaboration between CRAES and students from Cantillana.
The IES San José will celebrate 20 years of El Estuche, the magazine produced by its students. It will be on display in the hall of the Centro Cultural de La Villa.
The Hacienda Santa Cruz will host from 15 to 22 October ‘The Sugar Factory. Memory of a Neighbourhood’, a photographic exhibition about the old factory and the neighbourhood that grew around it. In addition, the short film ‘Sugar Roots’, by Manuel Tacón Rueda and José Antonio Zamora Rodríguez, will be screened.
“The programme will focus on both artistic creation and episodes and elements directly linked to the history and identity of La Rinconada,” according to municipal sources.
Residents can check the schedules and visiting conditions on the official channels of the La Rinconada City Council. Admission to the exhibitions will be free until capacity is reached, according to municipal information.
