The Agrupación Deportiva San José visits CD Pedrera this Saturday at 20:00, while Unión Deportiva Rinconada debuts on Sunday in the Honour Division against La Palma CF at 12:00 in the Nuevo Leonardo Ramos.

Football in La Rinconada returns to competition this weekend after a three-month break. The Agrupación Deportiva San José will be the first team to take to the field, on Saturday at 20:00 at the Municipal de Pedrera, in what is one of the longest trips in the Primera Andaluza. The team faces its league debut with a significant change in the coaching staff and the squad.

Nando de La Rosa, a former player of San José and with a past at UD Rinconada, is the new coach. His goal is to return the team to higher categories and to do so quickly, meaning winning the league championship. To achieve this, the coach has outlined a model that has shown promising results in pre-season, with victories against teams from higher categories.

Opposing them will be CD Pedrera, a rival established in the category that struggled until the last matchday last season to maintain their place. The verdinegros have also renewed their coaching staff with the arrival of Fran Díaz, who was assistant to Pedro Murciano for two seasons. The Pedrera squad includes Antonio Luna, a former player of Sevilla FC, UD Almería, Aston Villa, Levante, Rayo Vallecano, and Girona, who after announcing his retirement has decided to continue playing for his hometown team.

The match will be officiated by referee Zambrano López and can be followed in full via Radio Rinconada.

“San José has had a good season, beating rivals from higher categories and presenting a very good image ahead of the league start,” according to club sources.

On Sunday, at 12:00, the Unión Deportiva Rinconada will experience a historic moment with their debut in the Honour Division in front of their fans. Raúl Carmona's team will host La Palma CF at the Nuevo Leonardo Ramos, a match that will pit the rinconeros against a Huelva rival that just missed out on the promotion play-off to Tercera Federación last season.

The category has undergone a last-minute change: the Andalusian Sports Arbitration Tribunal has forced the RFAF to register Almodóvar del Río CF, leaving the group with 19 teams, two more matchdays, and an additional relegation to the five that already existed. Despite this, the rinconero team maintains its commitment to a continuity squad, keeping the key players who achieved promotion and the league title, except for the departures of David Cuevas, Charro, and Iván Gaviño. The signings of Fermín, Paquito Morales, and Ismael Cortés strengthen a team that does not shy away from competing for everything in a category that is expected to be very balanced, with no clear favourite.

The match will be officiated by Báez Macías, from the Cádiz refereeing association, who last season officiated six matches in the Honour Division with an average of six cards per match. The broadcast will be handled by Radio Rinconada, which launches Regional Deportivo with commentary from José Luis Mitchell.
