The Town Hall of Guillena gathered on Tuesday those affected by the wildfires to explain the aid approved by the Government of Spain and to address their questions regarding requirements and deadlines.
The Councillor for the Environment of Guillena, Tati Fernández, held a meeting on Tuesday, August 4, with residents affected by the wildfires that have ravaged the municipality since June 9. The meeting, held in the locality, served to detail the extraordinary state aid approved by the Council of Ministers on July 28, 2026.
Guillena is among the 211 areas declared severely affected by a civil protection emergency, allowing the victims to apply for Royal Decree 307/2005 and Order INT/277/2008, which regulate these compensations. The wildfires have caused damage to homes, plots, agricultural and livestock operations, businesses, and municipal infrastructures, and have required a significant emergency response from the Junta de Andalucía.
During the meeting, municipal technicians explained what the aid consists of, who can be beneficiaries, and what damages are eligible for subsidies. They also detailed the requirements and necessary documentation to submit the application, as well as the established deadlines for processing, addressing attendees' questions on a case-by-case basis.
The Town Hall of Guillena aims to facilitate access to these compensations for all affected individuals, businesses, and activities, in a context where the recovery of the municipality after the wildfires will be lengthy.
