The Guillena Town Hall reports two days of blackouts in the Las Candelarias neighbourhood, the second lasting over 10 hours, and announces a formal complaint against the company and the Andalusian Ombudsman.

The Town Hall of Guillena has raised its tone against Endesa after the Las Candelarias neighbourhood suffered power supply cuts for two consecutive days. The second blackout, recorded on Sunday, September 6, lasted for over 10 hours, according to the municipal government.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, one of the hottest days of the summer, with an interruption that exceeded 5 hours. In both cases, the affected area was the same, and the cause, according to Endesa, was a damaged cable that was exposed to water after the rains on Saturday morning, which caused various connections to burn out.

The mayor of Guillena, who was accompanied by municipal government councillors during both days, criticises the company's response: he considers it "absolutely insufficient". The council even contacted 112 and the fire department to report a situation they describe as a health emergency, without Endesa acting with the necessary urgency.

"It is frustrating the barrier that Endesa uses to notify incidents and the impunity for not responding to them with agility and promptness," the government team denounces.

While the blackouts lasted, families in Las Candelarias, including electro-dependent individuals, children, and the elderly, had to endure high temperatures without power, posing a health risk and resulting in food loss in homes.

The Town Hall demands that Endesa provide an immediate solution and renew all facilities that show deficiencies, to ensure a definitive repair that prevents the situation from recurring. Furthermore, the municipal government announces that this Monday it will file a formal complaint with the company itself and with the Andalusian Ombudsman on behalf of all affected residents.
