Before the gala of the 65th edition of the Antonio Mairena Cante Jondo Festival, the singer immortalised his hands. His imprints will be part of the Flamenco Walk of Mairena del Alcor.
The singer José Mercé left the imprint of his hands in Mairena del Alcor last Saturday, just minutes before the gala of the 65th edition of the Antonio Mairena Cante Jondo Festival began.
This imprint will be used to create a commemorative slab that will be placed in the Flamenco Walk, a pathway located on Avenida de Andalucía that pays tribute to the great figures of singing, dancing, and guitar playing who have left their mark on the festival.
With this gesture, the municipality acknowledges the significance and legacy of the artist, who joins a gallery of figures linked to the event. The slab with his imprints will be integrated into this permanent route dedicated to flamenco.
The festival, which this year reaches its 65th edition, continues to celebrate its tradition in the town of Alcor, where fans and artists gather each year around cante jondo.
