The second edition of the popular recreation will take place on November 6, 7, and 8 in the Plaza de San Miguel, with four performances and a cast of around 180 people. The fencing rehearsals have already begun.
The second edition of the popular recreation of the Legend of the Rooster of Morón de la Frontera is already underway. The project, driven by CÍA La Periférica and the Town Hall of Morón de la Frontera, has an investment of 60,000 euros from the Plan 107 of the Diputación de Sevilla, distributed between 2025 and 2026.
The performances will take place on November 6, 7, and 8, with a total of four shows, one of them in the evening. The Plaza de San Miguel will once again be the main stage, although the direction wants to go further this year and completely transform the space so that the audience feels they are transported to the time in which the story unfolds.
"If last year there was a sense of being transported to the Morón of that era, this year it will be complete," says the show's direction.
One of the main novelties of this edition is the increased participation of local groups and associations. Those who participated last year are now joined by AM La Fuensanta, the Mountain Club, and the Archers of Morón, which expands the popular dimension of the proposal.
In total, the cast will consist of around 180 people, including actors, musicians, and specialists. If we add the technical, coordination, production, and communication staff, the project will involve more than 200 people. Between five and seven inmates from the Sevilla II Penitentiary Centre will also participate again, with the intention of growing this collaboration in future editions.
The first training sessions have already begun. This weekend, fencing practice started, one of the disciplines that will be part of the preparation for the show. It will be in October when the rehearsals go out into the streets, allowing direct work on the spaces that will become the stage for the recreation in November.
Some locals will reprise the characters they played last year, while others face the challenge of preparing new roles. The organization highlights the enthusiasm of the participants as one of the driving forces behind this second edition, which once again bets on citizen participation and on valuing the history and heritage of Morón de la Frontera.
