The fire, which affected the vicinity of Cerro de San Cristóbal, near the Wall of Estepa, has been extinguished without significant damage.

A fire declared this morning in the vicinity of Cerro de San Cristóbal, near the Wall of Estepa, has been controlled and extinguished without causing major damage. The rapid intervention of the Firefighters, with teams dispatched from Estepa and Osuna, prevented the flames from reaching nearby homes.

Alongside the firefighting teams, agents from the Civil Guard, Local Police, and the General Services of the Estepa City Council have been involved. The Firefighters' initial action focused on cooling down areas that the fire had not yet reached to prevent it from affecting the houses close to the site.

The Mayor of Estepa, Antonio Jesús Muñoz, and the Deputy Mayor, Asunción Llamas, have been present during the intervention, coordinating the work of the municipal technicians who assisted in the firefighting efforts and closely monitoring the situation's evolution.

The fire is now completely extinguished at this time. The Estepa City Council has thanked all participating personnel for their efforts, as well as the voluntary collaboration of local residents who helped in the firefighting tasks.

Cerro de San Cristóbal is an area of high heritage and landscape value, as it houses the remains of the ancient Islamic fortress of the locality. Local authorities have not yet reported on the causes of the fire.
