The Morón de la Frontera City Council has launched a job and training project that will allow 15 young people to improve the Los Palomitos Gardens.
The Morón de la Frontera City Council has initiated a new Employment and Training Project that will provide work and training to 15 young people from the municipality for one year. The initiative will focus on the Los Palomitos Gardens, one of the most emblematic green spaces in the area, with an investment of nearly €360,000.
The project, funded by the Junta de Andalucía, is aimed at young people aged between 16 and 30 who will receive theoretical and practical training in masonry. Over the next twelve months, participants will combine learning with the execution of improvements in the park, a formula that the City Council has used on other occasions to promote job insertion.
The mayor of Morón, Juan Manuel Rodríguez, and the delegate for Works, Ignacio Cala, visited the start of the works to witness the development of the initiative firsthand. Rodríguez highlighted the dual value of such programs: they offer training and employment opportunities to young people while simultaneously allowing for the execution of projects of interest to the city.
The intervention responds to a community demand and aims to facilitate transit through the park, especially during the rainy months. Currently, some areas present access difficulties due to the state of the ground, so new accessible pathways will be created with paving along the main routes.
The works will preserve the landscaped areas and the ground surfaces to maintain the park's image and essence. This initiative will improve pedestrian connections between the Alameda and the homes located next to the park, and will also facilitate access from the staircase built in previous years, creating more comfortable and safe routes, especially for people with reduced mobility.
With this project, the Morón City Council continues to support initiatives that combine the generation of opportunities for young people with the improvement of public spaces. The plan is for the works to take place over the coming months, aiming to leave the park in optimal condition before next autumn.
