A fire reported on Friday morning at the Cuatro Caminos residential complex in Alcalá de Guadaíra has left four injured, three of whom are minor and one woman in serious condition. The fire, which originated in a ground floor flat of block 2, was completely extinguished after emergency services deployed a large operation in the area.
The alert was received around 09:45 on Antonio Mairena Avenue, right in the middle of the A-392. Firefighters from Alcalá and the Consortium were mobilised, with the collaboration of the fire stations from Mairena del Aljarafe and Utrera, as well as the Local Police, the National Police Corps, and health services.
According to the Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council, the rapid intervention of the teams prevented the fire from spreading to the rest of the building. The entire block was evacuated as a precautionary measure, although residents were later allowed to return to their homes once the flames were under control.
The causes of the fire are still under investigation. The Scientific Police arrived at the scene to determine the origin of the fire, which reached a very high thermal load in one of the rooms where clothing was stored. The building where it started has been completely affected.
