The Estepeña company Calgovsa, associated with the L'Hoist Group, has delivered the fifth edition of its scholarships. There are 16 grants of 1,000 euros for students from the municipality with good academic records and limited resources.

The award ceremony for the Calgovsa Scholarships 2026 took place at the Casa de la Cultura Miguel de Cervantes in Estepa. This initiative, now in its fifth edition, is organised in collaboration with the City Council of Estepa and distributes 16 grants of 1,000 euros each among young people in the municipality who wish to continue their studies.

The scholarships are aimed at students finishing secondary education and starting higher studies, whether university, vocational training, or artistic education. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate a good academic record and lack sufficient financial resources to cover the costs of their studies.

The funding is intended to cover transport and accommodation expenses during the academic year. It is particularly designed for those who need to move to other cities to study at universities or specialised centres. Additionally, it is compatible with scholarships from the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.

The event was presided over by the mayor, Antonio Jesús Muñoz Quirós, along with the councillor for Education, Ana Belén Marrón Reyes, and the operations director of the company, Juan Domínguez. Also present were the directors of three educational centres in the locality: Remedios Domínguez from CEIP Santa Teresa; Antonio Miguel Montaño from CEIP Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, and David Caro from IES Aguilar y Cano.

The mayor and the councillor for Education expressed their gratitude for Calgovsa's commitment to the education of young people in Estepa. Juan Domínguez, for his part, expressed his satisfaction at being able to provide this financial assistance to the young people of the municipality.

Among the beneficiaries of 2026 are Darío Muñoz Padilla (Degree in Chemistry), Paula Tejada Domínguez (Degree in Economics), Irene Chía Cejas (Tourism and Advertising), María de la Asunción Borrego Ortega (Degree in Psychology), Alejandro Machuca Villalba (Degree in Computer Engineering) and Carmen María Rabasco Giráldez (Degree in Medicine).

There are also students from higher vocational training cycles, such as Antonio Jesús Botella Díaz (Industrial Automation and Robotics), Álvaro Jiménez Fernández (Mechanical Manufacturing Design), Carlota María Quirós Manzano (Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine), Andrea Osuna Barrionuevo (Oral Hygiene) and Antonio Muñoz Muñoz (Sales Management and Commercial Spaces). Completing the list are Elías Cabañas Sojo, who is studying Clarinet in Higher Music Education, Olga Fernández Palacios (Translation and Interpretation of English), Álvaro Navarro López (Labour Relations and Human Resources), Alberto García Páez (Double Degree in Economics and Business Administration and Management) and María Reina Fernández (English Studies).
