The A-49 viaduct in Seville will experience a total traffic closure in the outbound direction for three consecutive nights due to maintenance works. The closure will begin on Sunday 26 July.

Traffic on the A-49 viaduct at Patrocinio, in Seville, will be completely interrupted for three consecutive nights starting next Sunday 26 July. This measure is in response to maintenance works on the roadway promoted by the State Road Demarcation in Western Andalusia.

The closure will affect the section between the A-49 interchange with the SE-30 and the José Moya Sanabria roundabout, in the outbound direction from the city of Seville. During the working hours, it will not be possible to use this section to head towards the A-49 and the connections to Huelva, Cádiz or Mérida.

The traffic interruption will take place exclusively during the night, between 22:00 and 6:00, in order to minimise the impact on traffic. The closure will be implemented during the following days: from 22:00 on Sunday 26 July to 6:00 on Monday; from 22:00 on Monday 27 July to 6:00 on Tuesday 28; and from 22:00 on Tuesday 28 to 6:00 on Wednesday 29.

Outside of these hours, traffic is expected to resume, although there may be occasional delays and temporary modifications to access while the works continue.

As an alternative route, vehicles heading towards Cádiz, Huelva or Mérida should use the Muro de Defensa road and Carlos III avenue. Additionally, the José Moya Sanabria roundabout will be temporarily reconfigured and will operate as a closed roundabout while the special measures are in effect.

Drivers should pay attention to the signage installed in the area and plan their journeys in advance, especially during the start and end periods of the closure. Maintenance works are common on this high-capacity road, which handles a large volume of daily traffic, especially in the outbound direction towards Aljarafe and the A-49 motorway.

Residents of Seville and the metropolitan area are advised to consider alternative routes during these nights, as the closure affects one of the main access points to the city from the west. The State Road Demarcation in Western Andalusia reminds that these actions are necessary to ensure road safety and the good condition of the pavement.
