Seville welcomes the 17th stage of La Vuelta with a 420-person deployment and an economic return of over 2 million euros. The finish line is at Paseo de Colón.

Mayor José Luis Sanz supervises the municipal arrangements for the arrival of the stage, which ends at Paseo de Colón. The City Council deploys over 420 personnel, with an estimated economic return of more than 2 million euros.

The Andalusian capital is preparing to experience this afternoon, September 9, the arrival of the 17th stage of La Vuelta, which will culminate at the Paseo de Colón, in front of the Real Maestranza. The Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, has supervised the municipal arrangements deployed for the occasion this morning.

The mayor visited the Press Centre, set up at Paseo Marqués de Contadero, in the municipal tourism offices (Contursa), and then met with the security officials, including Local Police, Firefighters, Civil Protection, Mobility, Lipasam, Parks and Gardens, and the Municipal Sports Institute.

The City Council has prepared a special deployment of more than 420 people to ensure safety and the normal functioning of the city during the event. Among them are 150 local police officers, 20 Civil Protection volunteers, 2 fire crews (which join the 4 parks that are always operational), and 249 auxiliary staff.

La Vuelta returns to Seville for the second consecutive time: it was already a stage finish in 2024 and will be again in 2026, after a 14-year hiatus without hosting the Spanish round. The event, followed in 190 countries and with a global audience of nearly 400 million people, cements the city’s status as a capital of major sporting events.

The economic impact is another argument put forward by the City Council. Against the 250,000 euros allocated for the organisation, Seville will directly receive more than 2 million euros, thanks to the more than 2,000 people accompanying the caravan who have stayed in the city for three or four nights. This figure is supplemented by indirect benefits.

Traffic disruptions and alternative mobility options will be active from the early hours of the afternoon. Residents are advised to check alternative routes and use public transport to access the finish area.
