The bronze went to David García (At. Badajoz) with 46.20. Pinés had won his semifinal with 45.95.

The Spanish National Outdoor Championships are key to defining the team that will represent Spain at the European Championships in Birmingham, which will take place next August. The times achieved by the athletes in Málaga will be crucial for the final selection.
