The City Council of Sevilla has officially designated painter Ana Langeheldt to create the poster for the Spring Festivals of 2027. The mayor, José Luis Sanz, welcomed the artist at the Town Hall to formalise the commission.
The Sevillian artist Ana Langeheldt will be the author of the Sevilla Spring Festivals 2027 poster, which will announce Holy Week and the April Fair. The designation was formalised this Wednesday in a meeting at the Town Hall between the mayor, José Luis Sanz, the delegate for Major Festivals, Manuel Alés, and the painter herself.
The City Council highlights Langeheldt's career, born in Sevilla in 1978 and graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Sevilla, as one of the pioneering figures in muralism and urban art in Spain. With over two decades of experience, her work has been showcased at festivals in France, Belgium, and the United States, including events such as the Biennale de Mons, Void Projects in Miami, and Les Nouveaux Ateliers in Marseille.
In the Andalusian capital, she has left interventions such as the commemorative mural Two Oceans, created for the 5th Centenary of the First Circumnavigation of the World, and has exhibited at the Magasé Art Gallery. She is also the author of the poster for the 16th European Film Festival of Sevilla (SEFF 2019) and the cult poster for the Macarena Brotherhood in 2025, in addition to having worked for brands like Christian Dior and Cruzcampo.
“The appointment of Ana Langeheldt responds to our goal of placing the poster design of our Major Festivals in the hands of established artists who represent the talent, avant-garde, and excellence of contemporary Sevillian painting,” Sanz stated.
The mayor emphasised that the 2027 poster will enhance the city's international image, as Holy Week and the Fair are its main calling cards to the world. In this regard, he recalled that the aesthetic continuity of recent years has featured names like Antoine Cas, the Daroal workshop, or Daniel Franca.
“Sevilla is privileged to have a generation of painters like Ana Langeheldt with extraordinary technical solidity who export the contemporary identity of our land to galleries and festivals around the world,” the mayor noted.
Among her distinctions are the Honor Diploma from the LI Autumn Exhibition of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Santa Isabel of Hungary (2003), first prizes from the Young Creation Contest of the City Council of Sevilla in the categories of Graffiti (2007) and Graphic Design (2009), and the Inicarte creation grant from the Junta de Andalucía.
Langeheldt's work has also been featured in publications such as Graffiti Women and Rolling Stone Magazine. With this commission, the City Council hopes that her free and cosmopolitan perspective will connect urban language with the city's sentiment, in anticipation of an event that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
