The Utrera City Council presents a positive balance of the Fair of Our Lady of Consolation 2026, with a large influx of visitors and a 37.1% increase in tourist attention. Hotel occupancy reached nearly 95% and the security measures operated without serious incidents.
The Fair and Festivals of Our Lady of Consolation 2026 has come to an end with a satisfactory balance for the Utrera City Council. The high participation of locals and visitors was the predominant note, even despite the high temperatures recorded over several days.
The Tourist Information Point assisted 1,839 people, representing an increase of 37.1% compared to 1,341 the previous year. Visitors came from various parts of Andalusia and Spain, as well as from countries such as Colombia, Italy, Portugal, France, Ireland, Japan, and Mexico. The most frequent inquiries were about the Fair itself, the location of booths, local heritage, gastronomy, and regional products.
The occupancy in the town's tourist accommodations was around 95%, according to municipal data.
The musical and cultural programming was very well received. In the Plaza del Altozano, the free concerts by Manuel Lombo and La Frontera attracted large crowds during the pre-fair days. At the fairgrounds, the Municipal Booth hosted performances by Paco Candela and La Húngara, which became two of the most attended moments.
Special was the tribute to Pepa de Utrera on the centenary of her birth, with the show “For Pepa de Utrera. Art and rhythm with Los Loreto and Montoya”. The offer was completed with artists such as Joana Jiménez, Las Carlotas, Inés Rubio, David Guerreros, Salma Flamenco Fusión, ArKike, Luces del Alba, and the Orquesta Elegidos, in addition to activities for children on the last day.
In terms of security, the Plan Farolillo mobilised more than 200 professionals and volunteers and around 60 vehicles, with the participation of municipal services, Local Police, Guardia Civil, Civil Protection, Firefighters, and medical teams. The Fair took place without any serious incidents, although there were some medical assists related to the high temperatures.
The day of September 8 was particularly crowded. From early morning, pilgrims from various municipalities in the countryside arrived on foot to visit Our Lady of Consolation. At dawn, thousands accompanied the Patroness on her departure from the Shrine.
“The Fair has proceeded without any serious incidents,” according to the balance from the Utrera City Council.
With these figures, the City Council concludes an edition that has once again positioned Utrera as a meeting point during its grand days. The next appointment with the Consolation Fair will be in September 2027.
