The 13 educational centres in Los Palacios and Villafranca and its districts opened this Monday with 3,535 students enrolled in Early Years, Primary and Special Education, according to the initial estimate from the Town Hall.
The school year 2026/2027 has kicked off in Los Palacios and Villafranca with 3,535 students distributed among 13 centres in the municipality and its districts. This figure is managed by the Town Hall as an initial estimate and breaks down to 1,075 students in Early Years and 2,460 in Primary.
The day has passed without notable incidents and with a reduced adaptation schedule, welcome activities, and surprises prepared in the schools. From this Tuesday, students will return to their usual schedule.
The mayor, Juan Manuel Valle, visited the CEIP María Auxiliadora alongside the municipal education delegate, Florián Ramírez, to check how the students' integration has developed and to greet the educational community.
“It is one of the most exciting days of the year for the entire educational community,” Valle said.
The mayor explained that during the summer, municipal maintenance work, painting, cleaning, gardening, and masonry have been carried out in the centres, coordinated with the management teams to resolve as many issues as possible before the start of classes.
“We must all always go in the same direction, doing everything we can and more to ensure that the school year develops normally, both in terms of infrastructure and the educational objectives that our teachers are developing,” the mayor pointed out.
Valle assured that the Town Hall maintains a “total willingness” towards the 13 schools, the four high schools, and the nursery schools in the area. So far, he noted, no incidents have been reported due to a lack of teachers in Early Years and Primary.
The director of CEIP María Auxiliadora, Vanessa Sánchez Ortiz, described the start as “going quite well” and “very exciting,” highlighting the enthusiasm with which the children have returned to the classrooms to reunite with classmates and teachers.
“Children spend a few hours here, but then they are outside for a long time, and it is essential for the entire educational community to be involved and for us all to understand the importance of the common work we have,” the mayor concluded.
