The Town Hall of Los Palacios y Villafranca has launched its annual maintenance campaign in the 13 public schools of the municipality to ensure they are ready by September. The work includes painting, plumbing, electricity, and thorough cleaning.

The Town Hall of Los Palacios y Villafranca has begun maintenance work in the 13 public schools of Early Childhood and Primary Education in the area. The mayor, Juan Manuel Valle, accompanied by the delegates for Education and Urban Habitat, Florián Ramírez and Irene García, oversaw the initial activities at CEIP Pablo Ruiz Picasso, where repairs to painting, plumbing, and electricity are being carried out.

The campaign includes the painting of corridors in several schools, funded by the Agricultural Employment Promotion Programme (PFOEA) 2025. Classrooms will also be painted by the public building maintenance company and Urban Habitat staff. Additionally, doors, handles, and other damage detected during the school year will be repaired.

Clearing of green areas and work at CEIP Cervantes

The Parks and Gardens Delegation is carrying out clearing and conditioning work on the green areas of the schools to remove vegetation that has grown after the spring rains. The aim is for the playgrounds and outdoor spaces to be in perfect condition for the start of the school year.

Meanwhile, this summer, a larger-scale project will begin at CEIP Cervantes, also funded by the PFOEA. The project includes the demolition and construction of a new approved perimeter fence, as well as the renewal of the pavement on Álvarez Quintero street. This action completes the improvement of the surroundings of the centre that was previously carried out.

Municipal priority for the start of the school year

The mayor, Juan Manuel Valle, highlighted that the maintenance of the schools represents a significant economic effort for the Town Hall, but he considers it a priority. "We want the students of Los Palacios and Villafranca to find safe, well-maintained facilities in the best possible condition at the start of the new school year," he stated. The work will be completed with a thorough cleaning before the arrival of the teaching staff and students.

For the residents of Los Palacios and Villafranca, this campaign guarantees that the educational centres will be in optimal conditions. Parents can rest assured: the schools will undergo a thorough review during the summer, with special attention to the areas most used by children. The works at CEIP Cervantes will also improve safety and accessibility in the area.

The expectation is that all work will be completed before the start of the school year in early September. The Town Hall has assured that timelines will be coordinated to avoid interfering with educational activities.
