The Alcalá de Guadaíra Town Hall has executed a cleaning, maintenance, and chemical-biological control plan for around twenty fountains and ponds located in squares, streets, and parks throughout the municipality.

The Alcalá de Guadaíra Town Hall, through the Urban Habitat delegation, has carried out an extensive service of cleaning, maintenance, conservation, and chemical-biological control in the ornamental fountains and ponds of the city. The work has focused on ensuring the proper functioning of these facilities and the quality of the water, both in the basins and in the hydraulic systems.

The actions have included cleaning the basins and hydraulic elements, preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, conduits, and pumping systems, as well as the conservation of associated electrical installations. Additionally, chemical and biological controls of the water have been conducted to ensure adequate health conditions.

The work has taken place in the fountains of Plaza del Duque, the Malasmañanas roundabout, Plaza de la Almazara, and Nueva Alcalá, on Avenida Escultora la Roldana, as well as those on the Boulevard de La Paz. Interventions have also been made at the fountain in Plaza de las Mujeres Panaderas, at the one on Calle Nuestra Señora del Águila in front of the La Milagrosa residence, and at those on Calle Moguer-Valencia, Calle Silos, and the Rabesa wall on Avenida 28 de Febrero.

At all these locations, cleaning and painting work has been carried out, along with conservation and maintenance actions for the facilities. The aim, according to municipal sources, is to preserve the functioning of these infrastructures and improve their integration into the urban landscape of Alcalá de Guadaíra.

Additionally, the Town Hall has conducted chemical and biological controls in all the fountains of Parque Centro, thereby reinforcing the monitoring of water quality in this key public space. These actions complement the periodic maintenance already conducted in the other fountains of the city.

With this intervention, the council aims for residents to enjoy well-maintained public spaces, with special attention to the safety and hygiene of the water. The fountains, in addition to their ornamental function, serve as meeting points in squares and parks, making their conservation essential for the daily life of the municipality.

This plan is part of the regular work of the Urban Habitat delegation, which will continue with periodic reviews to detect any potential issues. The work has been completed without the need to cut off the supply or interfere with the use of the affected spaces.
