Alcalá de Guadaíra has received over 26,000 visits to its tourist sites between January and July, a 17.5% increase compared to 2025. The Castle, with its new lighting, leads the growth.
The Sevillian municipality of Alcalá de Guadaíra has recorded over 26,000 visits to its tourist and heritage sites during the first half of 2026, representing a 17.5% increase compared to the same period last year, when just over 22,000 were counted.
The municipal delegate for Tourism, Christopher Rivas, has highlighted that this data "reinforces Alcalá de Guadaíra's role as a tourist and heritage reference in the provincial sphere, with sustained growth over the last few years."
The Castle of Alcalá remains the main attraction, with over 13,000 visits in the first six months, a 42% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Rivas has linked this notable increase to "the launch of the ornamental lighting of the Castle," which for the first time allows enjoyment of the heritage site at night and expands the visiting possibilities. Guided tours on Fridays and Saturdays have been particularly well received.
The second most visited site has been the Molino de la Mina, with nearly 4,500 visits, a 22% increase over the previous year. Following this are the Museum, with around 4,000; the Tourist Office, with about 3,200; and the Harinera del Guadaíra, which has surpassed 1,300.
In the case of the Tourist Office and, particularly, the Harinera del Guadaíra, there has been a decline in visits of between 5% and 15%, due to construction and renovation work carried out in the latter space, which has temporarily limited visits.
The growth is not limited to the local audience. According to data provided by the City Council, there have been 1,500 additional visits from local residents, over 600 from the capital of Seville, and more than 1,800 from other parts of the province.
Rivas has reiterated that "the growth in visits highlights the positive impact of the investments made to improve and expand the city's tourist offerings, such as the new ornamental lighting of the Castle." The expansion of the offerings and visiting hours contributes to diversifying the ways to enjoy Alcalá's heritage and attracting new audiences.
The increase in visitors also has a direct impact on other sectors linked to tourism activity, especially hospitality and the cultural programming of the city, which benefit from the arrival of visitors from other municipalities.
The evolution of the figures confirms the consolidation and gradual growth of Alcalá de Guadaíra's tourist and heritage offerings, as well as tourism as an expanding economic sector generating activity for the city.
