The Employment Delegate, Paula Fuster, has visited the students of the training pathways in welding, air conditioning and plumbing of the RELANZA-T project, which aims to respond to the needs of the local labour market.
The Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council, through its Employment delegation, has strengthened its commitment to vocational training as a key tool for job placement. The area delegate, Paula Fuster, recently visited participants in the free training pathways in welding, air conditioning and plumbing, framed within the RELANZA-T project.
These courses are not the result of improvisation. They respond to a prior study of the industrial needs and high-demand professions in the locality, carried out within the framework of the Employment Pact, a working group that brings together the council, social agents and local businesses. The idea is clear: to detect what profiles companies are looking for and to train the unemployed in those specific areas.
Fuster highlighted during her visit that "the Alcalá City Council believes in specialised training due to the proven usefulness in terms of job placement." For the delegate, offering this training for free is "essential" as support for employment and as a commitment to equal opportunities. "Trades are back in vogue because companies need qualified and updated labour," she added.
Public-private collaboration is another pillar of the project. According to Fuster, "both the training of unemployed individuals and the commitment of Alcalá's companies to theoretical-practical training is a very beneficial economic symbiosis for the locality." This alliance allows for the mobilization of the local economy and enables students to gain real experience, a factor that companies increasingly value in selection processes.
The results are already beginning to show. The Employment delegation has confirmed the job placement of several individuals who have participated in the courses. To date, around thirty theoretical-practical pathways have been processed aimed at the entire population, with special attention to the ERACIS area, where access to the labour market is more difficult. Business practice courses have also been organised exclusively for graduates who need experience.
The RELANZA-T project is ambitious in numbers: it offers more than 60 specific training courses benefiting around 800 residents of Alcalá. Its budget amounts to approximately 5.7 million euros, financed by the Ministry of Territorial Policy, the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+) at 85%, and the Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council itself.
