The services in honour of Santa María del Águila Coronada begin this Thursday in Alcalá de Guadaíra. The novena will be held from August 6 to 14 and the procession will take place on the 15th.
Alcalá de Guadaíra is preparing to experience its traditional services in honour of Santa María del Águila Coronada, which start tomorrow Thursday. The solemn novena will be celebrated between August 6 and 14, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary and Holy Mass at 8:10 am, and the Novena Exercise at 9:30 pm.
The preacher will be the Rev. Father D. Pedro Sola Sola, who will accompany the faithful during these days of prayer. The climax will arrive on August 15, the Feast of the Assumption, with the Main Function of the Institute at 8:00 am in the esplanade of the Sanctuary.
In the afternoon, starting at 9:00 pm, the processional departure of the Most Holy Virgin of the Eagle will take place, one of the most awaited moments by the local devotees. The image will tour the streets of Alcalá on a night expected to be filled with emotion and fervour.
The services will culminate on Sunday August 23 with the Campaign Mass at 8:00 am in the esplanade of the Sanctuary, followed by the exposure of the Patroness in devout Besamanos. An event that marks the final touch to a very special August for the people of Alcalá.
The brotherhood invites all residents and visitors to participate in these events, which combine religious tradition with popular roots. The celebrations will take place according to the established schedule, and a large turnout of faithful is expected both at the novena and the procession.
