The town celebrated the procession of its patron saint this Sunday, which traversed the streets for over four hours with significant community participation.

Palomares del Río experienced one of its most notable days of the year on 6th September 2026 with the procession of Our Lady of the Star, the town's patron saint. The statue followed the planned route through the streets of the municipality, accompanied by numerous locals.

The procession included a representation from the municipal corporation led by the mayor, Manuel Benjumea, who accompanied the image throughout the entire route alongside members of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Star of Palomares del Río.

The procession took place along various streets of the municipality following the established schedule and proceeded without any issues. After more than four hours of journey, the procession concluded, completing the planned route, as reported by the Town Hall.

The day became a gathering event for the community around the patron saint, which each year brings together hundreds of people in the streets of the town to accompany the image on its journey.
