The Alcalá de Guadaíra Museum hosts the collective exhibition 'The Landscape. Contemporary Perspectives' until September 21, featuring works by 31 artists reinterpreting the Alcalá landscape.
The Alcalá de Guadaíra Museum has opened its doors to 'The Landscape. Contemporary Perspectives', a collective exhibition of painting and sculpture that brings together 31 artists with very different languages and sensibilities around the landscape of the municipality. The exhibition, curated by local artist Rafael Cerdá with the collaboration of fellow local Raúl Franco, includes more than 50 different perspectives on Alcalá and its surroundings.
The works offer a multiplicity of perspectives with heterogeneous techniques, formats, and styles, establishing a dialogue with the permanent exhibition 'Time of Landscapes', located on the ground floor of the museum. The proposal aims to broaden the contemporary vision of a genre that has its roots in the local pictorial tradition.
The delegate for Culture, Christopher Rivas, highlighted that the presence of the landscape is a constant in the history and present of Alcalá, recalling that painters from the late 19th century found inspiration in the banks of the Guadaíra River and in Oromana to paint from nature. This heritage, he noted, has become a hallmark of the city, with local paintings present in museums around the world and in the decoration of many Alcalá homes.
“Through this exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to see these landscapes from many perspectives and different languages,” concluded Rivas, who invited locals and visitors to come to the museum and experience it.
The exhibition can be visited until September 21 during the museum's usual hours, an event that brings the public closer to the scenic richness of the locality through the contemporary gaze of its artists.
