The Alcalá de Guadaíra Town Hall coordinates the special device for the worship of Santa María del Águila Coronada, which begins this Thursday with the Novena.
The Alcalá de Guadaíra Town Hall has launched the Glorias II Plan, the special device that will ensure the smooth running of the events in honour of Santa María del Águila Coronada, the patroness of the city. The Novena begins this Thursday, August 6, and will run until the 14th, with masses in the morning and afternoon at the Sanctuary of the Eagle.
The device, coordinated with the Council of Brotherhoods and Cofradías, involves various municipal departments, security forces, cleaning and traffic. The Local Police, Firefighters, the municipal company Aira Gestión Ambiental, as well as the collaboration of the National Police Corps and Civil Protection volunteers, are part of the operation.
The delegate for Natural Monument, Environment and Sustainability, Luisa Campos, has detailed the preliminary work carried out in the surroundings of the Sanctuary. “These tasks have focused on repainting and conditioning the entire area around the Eagle, the fountain area in front of the Torre Mocha, and the Cuesta de Santa María,” she explained, and will conclude with the placement of flowers around the temple.
For her part, the delegate for Major Festivals, Rocío Bastida, has thanked the involvement of all departments and groups. She has highlighted the work of the Brotherhood of the Eagle, “as part of the culture, heritage and even the social work towards the community.”
Worship Programme
The solemn Novena will be celebrated from August 6 to 14. The Prayer of the Holy Rosary and the Holy Mass will take place at 8:10 am, while the Novena exercise will be held at 9:30 pm. The preacher will be the Rev. Father D. Pedro Sola Sola.
The main day will be August 15, with the Principal Function of the Institute at 8:00 am in the esplanade of the Sanctuary and the processional departure of the Virgin of the Eagle starting at 9:00 pm.
The worship will conclude on Sunday, August 23, with the Campaign Mass at 8:00 am and the subsequent exposition of the Patroness in devout Besamanos.
The Town Hall recommends attendees to arrive early for the main events and to follow the instructions of security and emergency services for a safe celebration.
